Are Capri Pants Cool?
Q: In several ads in men’s magazines, I have seen pictures of men in other countries wearing Capri pants. Are these going to be coming into style in North America anytime soon? Jeremy
A: Several summers ago, everyone was wearing Capri pants. Guys, girls, trannies, you name it. They’re not quite so trendy these days, but they remain popular. One way to wear Capri pants and make them seem slightly more updated is to make your own! Take a pair of old khakis that you don't wear anymore and cut them to above your ankles and let them fringe. Beware too much fringe though. After cutting to the desired length, wash the pants to really bring out the fringe, then trim any excess loose threads. If you want to do the whole distressed look, take some sandpaper or a cheesegrater and distress along the seams, pockets or fly. When anyone asks you where you got your pants you’ll be proud to say that you distressed them yourself!
