Getting Dark Without the Sun

If you're interested in getting a tan, but don't have vacation time, try a self tanner. Quality self tanners can provide a toned-down George Hamilton look, while helping you avoid dangerous rays. Here are tips for using the "tan in a can":

· Prior to applying, wash with an exfoliating scrub to remove dead skin.

· Wear gloves when applying to avoid tan palms

· Don't use too much… less is more.

· Avoid eyelids and ears

· Apply daily (not hourly) to achieve a darker color.

· Wait at least 10 minutes before putting your clothes on

One of the best products on the market is the Protective Self Tan, which provides an "orange-free" tan and also contains an SPF 15.
