Choice Calvin Klein rolls out Young Contemporary Jeanswear Line for Spring 2005
Calvin Klein Jeans, a division of The Warnaco Group, Inc announced that they will introduce a new young contemporary jeans line under the recently established brand name Choice Calvin Klein.
The Choice Calvin Klein jeans line was presented for the first time at the MAGIC Marketplace in Las Vegas.
The jeans line was developed collaboratively with Calvin Klein Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation, and was named to evoke an emotional, youthful connection and express a spirit of independence and freedom of choice.
The new denim line represents the company's next significant category addition to engage and cultivate a younger, fashion-conscious female consumer. This announcement follows the fall 2004 introduction of the Choice Calvin Klein underwear line and the recent addition of swimwear for spring 2005.
Choice Calvin Klein is set to debut at retail beginning with 12/25 and 1/25 deliveries and will be distributed exclusively in North America & South America. This strategic brand extension is part of Calvin Klein's existing licensing arrangement with Warnaco and evolved from the junior denim brand currently known as cK Calvin Klein Jeans.
Consistent with the Choice Calvin Klein aesthetic, the line is energetic, fashion-forward and multi-faceted.
The denim offerings include dark vintage, sandblast, bleached blue and graffiti denim washes and treatments, and will feature a unique branded pocket stitch for fashion items. Jeans will be offered in a variety of fits, in addition to a mix of bottoms ranging from mini skirts, short-shorts and gauchos. The non-denim portion of the line features vibrant colors, patterns and trims with innovative branding details and logos that include, satin bombers, sweater knits, t-shirts, halters, and layered tank tops accented with sequins and stretch lace.
Tom Murry, President & Chief Operating Officer of New York-based Calvin Klein Inc, said, "The introduction of jeanswear represents our third move into the growing junior market with the new Choice Calvin Klein brand name.”
Colleen Kelly, President of Calvin Klein Jeans said, "Choice Calvin Klein jeans will bring a fresh look and feel to the junior denim floor with bright colors and new fabrics and washes that will separate the brand from its competitors."
