Sophisticated Shopping
Sophisticated Shopping
Q: I was wondering what advice you would give someone who wanted to dress in a sophisticated way, but not too expensively. Where would I find a wardrobe like this?
Seth
A: Stop your worrying! Of course you can dress in a more sophisticated way within a reasonable budget. First things first: You need to determine what kind of shopper you are. Are you a "Discount Store Diva" who loves to scope out different stores in search of brand names for less or a "See it, Try it, Buy it Babe" who does not have the time or energy for an intense search party. Once you discover your shopping nature, you will be able to create a personalized shopping agenda that will accomplish your every fashion wish. If you are a Discount Store Diva, Bloomingdale's and Macy's have some great sales (check newspaper ads), while T.J. Maxx, Marshall's, and Daffy's hide some great name-brand designers on their racks. Remember to look carefully through each aisle. The best place for great fashion at reasonable prices is here at Solis Company. Another great treasure land of reduced-price clothes is the island of the outlets. Most of your favorite designers have outlet stores scattered throughout the country. Ask around, or call some of your favorite stores and ask for a nearby outlet location. Moving on to the "See it, Try it, Buy it Babe," some great stores include Sisely, Kenneth Cole, French Connection, Banana Republic, Express Mens, and Gap. Also hit up the department stores. Don't be intimidated every time you see a pricey label, since these stores also stock more affordable lines of clothing, especially at Bloomingdale's and Macy's. Reading up on where to shop and talking to friends and family is another great way to learn about the best shopping areas in your neighborhood. No matter what type of shopper you are and no matter how much money you can spend, there will be more than enough stores to accommodate you in your quest for a new look. Happy shopping!
