Q: I am looking to wear a tie, but I don’t want to look like I am trying to pass as a guy. Do you have any suggestions? FT
A: That is a great question. There are many ways for a girl to get by wearing a tie without looking masculine. First of all, try a skinny tie with a slim-fitting, well-tailored button-down shirt. You can even try to leave the tie a little loose, not button the top button, and show some skin. If you pair this with low-waisted trousers with flared legs and stiletto-heeled shoes, you’ll be even sexier and more feminine. It's all about how you style the look. If you wear it in a masculine way (such as with a button-up shirt and a bulky sweater), you’re bound to look more like a man. Another girly way to sport a tie is to wear one over a tank top. (Think Avril Levigne on the MTV Video Music Awards.) I say go for it and try to look as sexy as possible.
